I'm afraid that those of you who accuse the University of Virginia of being an institutional Hannibal Lecter, are anthropomorphizing. If you are a former employee nursing injuries, take a moment to exercise objectivity. You may recognize not a single-minded demon, but rather, a Rube Goldberg machine--a silly contraption in which one object sets in motion another and then that one, another and so on and so on. As I do, you may see that the University of Virginia is a byzantine and incomprehensible perpetual motion machine not out to get you, but, with its accretion of cogs, just inefficiently grinding away.
